STATE SPECIFIC INFORMATIONAs part of this research project, national surveys on impaired driving were conducted among front-line criminal justice professionals between 2001 and 2003. The goal of these surveys was to identify the priority problems in the system that each professional group faces, as well as their views and opinions on practical solutions to the problems. Participants in these surveys included: 2,700 police officers in 16 states; 390 prosecutors in 35 states; 900 judges in 44 states and 890 probation officers in 41 states. State-specific survey results from participating jurisdictions are now available, where sample size permits, upon request. States are encouraged to use these results to identify the priority problems and the solutions receiving greatest support in their respective states. This information can also be useful to those states undertaking a statewide review of their DWI system. State-specific information is available from the following jurisdictions:
